Parkland shooter blamed demons in his head for school massacre

Nikolas Cruz, the teen who confessed to having killed 17 people at a Florida high school, told investigators that he heard voices in his head telling him to "burn, kill, destroy" and that he tried but failed to kill himself two months before the massacre, according to a just-released transcript of his first formal interview with authorities.

In the beginning of the interview, the detective asked Cruz whether he would like some cold water.

In late July, a Broward County judge ordered parts of a transcript of what Cruz said to be released while excluding the "substance" of his alleged videotaped confession.

Cruz says he did not go through with it but couldn't explain why.

"I want to die".

Later, Cruz changed his mind and asked if he could be transferred to Cross Creek. You deserve to die because you're (expletive) worthless and you (expletive) (unintelligible) everyone. The interrogation began about four hours after the February 14 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland and about 2½ hours after Cruz was captured as he walked down a nearby street.

In the past, Runcie said that when Cruz turned 18 and rejected special education placement, the district could no longer provide him with the services given to students with emotional and behavioral disabilities.

Cruz said the voice had told him to hurt people the day before the shooting. "The voice is, is in me". "Just fucking kill me".

Curcio told Cruz he doesn't believe the voice exists, but Cruz insisted it was there and said he wanted to see a psychiatrist.

Johnny Depp’s Biggie/Tupac movie, City of Lies, pulled one month before release
However, if it was really that simple, why would Global Road not simply explain it in their report to Entertainment Weekly ? More than likely, Global Road is simply delaying the release of City of Lies until all of this noise blows over.

"You could have stopped the demon by getting a prescription for marijuana".

If you are anxious about your or someone else's mental health, the best place to get help is your GP or local mental health provider. "You didn't want to stop the demon". "You could have stopped the demon anytime you want", Curcio reportedly said.

School records accessed for the report said, "It must be noted that in particular, [the student] seems to identify as an animal," and stated that Cruz often engaged in unpredictable animal-like behaviors such as growling, crawling on the floor, and pouncing on fellow students. Video of the confession will be released Tuesday.

According to the transcript, Curcio told Cruz that he didn't believe Cruz had any interest in stopping the demon. Cruz says two to three weeks before the Parkland shooting, he walked onto the Stoneman Douglas campus with an AR-15 in a duffel bag, planning to shoot people at a park, the report says. "I feel that he should stay in prison, rot in prison, than be put into general population".

He added, "I know I make it seem like I didn't care about you at all".

"If you have anyone to blame, it's me. I love you with all my heart".

This comes as more information is revealed about Nikolas Cruz and his past. He was later apprehended.

A Broward County grand jury indicted the 19-year-old Cruz in March on 17 counts of premeditated murder in the first degree and 17 counts of attempted murder in the first degree, and a judge entered a not-guilty plea on his behalf during his arraignment.
