Rob Green on the brink of surprise Chelsea move

Chelsea are in talks with former England goalkeeper Rob Green over a move to Stamford Bridge, sources have told ESPN FC.

This summer seems to be a whole different ball game though with keepers on the move wherever you look, slowly obviously but they're on the move.

There's not much more to say about this one, other than that we really hope he's not actually a Thibaut Courtois replacement.

Chelsea are close to announcing their second capture of the summer transfer window with Rob Green close to joining them on a free transfer.

Chelsea have followed Manchester United's lead and recruited an experienced goalkeeper in preparation for the forthcoming season.

The 38-year-old has been out-of-contract since his release from Huddersfield Town but he has now been offered one final opportunity in the top-flight.

The Blues have been linked with moves Stoke City's Jack Butland, who is expected to leave following their relegation to the Championship, and Leicester's Kasper Schmeichel.
