Meet your next new big-screen DC superhero.
DC cinematic universe's latest movie, which stars Chuck actor Zachary Levi, debuted its teaser trailer over the weekend at Comic-Con in San Diego. Angel plays the role of being the new foster kid well and Levi is ideal in his role as an adult child who happens to be a superhero. Much like Aquaman, Billy Batson's superhero suit has often been considered to be one of the toughest superhero outfits to bring to life. However, that criticism is about to change in the form of a 14-year old boy turning into a superhero. What follows are lots of laughs, as Shazam tests out his powers - including flight and super-strength - and stops a burglary. Still a kid at heart-inside a ripped, godlike body-Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. Given the tone of how Warner Bros.is handling most D.C. comic book adaptations, this trailer feels like a proverbial breath of fresh air. But it also left out a major component of its story: The movie's villain, Dr. Thaddeus Sivana, who's played by Kingsman and Kick-Ass veteran Mark Strong. The film's version of Sivana also encountered The Wizard as a kid - but he was rejected to receive his powers.
Set to hit theaters on April. 5, 2019, Shazam! follows the story of 14-year-old foster kid Billy Batson, who can turn into an adult superhero after he bumps into an ancient wizard.
