R Kelly releases song, reveals abuse

R. Kelly sings about his troubles and battles in a new 19-minute song, addressing sexual abuse claims against him that have put a screeching halt on his career.

I Admit sees the singer confess to relationship "mistakes" but fiercely deny illegal sexual acts. While the 51-year-old cops to the fact that he's no angel (for example: "I admit, I admit that I did /I f***ed my girlfriend's best friend / Yeah I tapped that in the back of my Benz") and says he's "sorry for my sins", he hits back against the cult claims that were first brought to light one year ago.

R. Kelly on Time's Up movement "Cancel my shows, that s-- ain't right/ How they gon" say I don't respect these women, when all I've done is represent/ Take my career and turn it upside down, "cause you mad I've got some girlfriends". We both turned off our phone, we drinked, I smoked, we talked I admit that I tore it off From my good points to my faults She said "What about Aaliyah said?"

He reveals that he gave his publishing away due to dyslexia and not being able to read the contracts. He states openly that he is broke ("The only reason I stay on tour is 'cause I gotta pay my rent,") and that he was sexually abused as a child.

"I never thought it would come to this, to being the most disrespected artist / So I had to write a song about it / 'Cause they always take my words and twist it / Believe me, it's hard to admit all this".

Spotify and Apple Music removed the singer from their playlists in response. "I Admit" was not released on Sony's RCA Records, where R. Kelly is signed.

Fan ejected from The Open for shouting during Tiger Woods' final drive
Steady opening rounds of 70 and 72 took him into the weekend, before a stunning 65 on Saturday propelled him into contention. At the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook, Woods opened tied for the fourth-best odds to win the PGA Championship at 16-1.

"I'm not convicted, not arrested, my name dragged in the dirt", he sings, saying he's falsely accused.

In the song, R.Kelly chides John Legend, Steve Harvey and radio host Tom Joyner for criticising him in the wake of the scandal.

Earlier this year, a #MuteRKelly campaign was created in response to decades of sexual assault allegations facing the musician.

As you may remember past year, R.Kelly was involved in a huge scandal for apparently, holding a number of women hostage in what was dubbed as a 'cult'.

Referencing specific cases, such as the allegations made by Jocelyn Savage's parents, who accused him of brainwashing and imprisoning their daughter, Kelly sang: "Said I'm abusing these women, what the fuck that's some absurd shit (what?)/ They're brainwashed, really?"

Throughout the song, Kelly seemingly responds to claims that he has abused women, has "kidnapped" them and is holding them against their will in a sex cult - repeatedly defending himself against the allegations he's previously denied.
