Georgia Politician Fights Terrorism by Mooning Sacha Baron Cohen

After footage aired Sunday of Georgia state Rep. Jason Spencer (R) shouting racial slurs and pulling down his trousers during a fake terrorism defense class on Sacha Baron Cohen's Showtimes series, the lawmaker has apologized but refused to resign.

Rep. Jason Spencer, of Woodbine, speaks at the Georgia State Capitol in Atlanta on Feb 28, 2018.

Georgia lawmaker is the latest public figure caught with his trousers down on provocateur Sacha Baron Cohen's new cable TV series, this time literally, as the state legislator exposes his bottom, speaks with a mock Asian accent and yells a racial slur all in the name of fighting terrorism.

Sascha Baron Cohen's Who Is America? has already outraged a number of people, as Cohen straight-facedly puts seemingly intelligent people in deeply absurd situations they don't seem to quite realize are happening. Sunday night, Georgia state rep. Jason Spencer (R.) exposed himself and yelled racial epithets during a fake military-training session conducted by host Sacha Baron Cohen, who was dressed as a military commando. The lawmaker is told they're making a counterterrorism video.

In another portion of the show, Spencer pretends to be "homo" because terrorists are afraid of gay people according to Cohen. "Homosexual", finishes Spencer. Spencer then drops his trousers and rushes Morad with his butt, yelling "'Murica!" and "USA motherfucker!" as if bum-rushing (quite literally) someone with a gun is an effective way to disarm them. "U.S.A!", screamed Spencer as he ran backward.

He then has Spencer imitate a Chinese tourist to distract a burqa wearer - complete with a bad accent, racial stereotypes and actual Japanese terms such as "konichiwa" and "sushi" - while sticking a selfie stick with a camera under her garb.

Atkins's grandmother had taken him at a young age due to an apparent drug addiction his mother had, according to Egland. He placed a folding storage ladder outside of a window, helping colleagues escape to safety, he told KNBC-TV.

Other Georgia Republicans are calling his actions and words "appalling". But The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Georgia House Speaker David Ralston has called for Spencer to resign.

"There is no excuse for this type of behaviour, ever", Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal said in a tweet, "and I am saddened and disgusted by it".

The Georgia legislator has been criticized in the past for saying things deemed offensive to blacks and Muslims. In 2016, Spencer sought to update a 1951 state law that outlawed Ku Klux Klan members from wearing hoods at public rallies.

This is not the first time Spencer has faced pressure to resign. He quickly dropped the proposal.

"Who is America?", a seven-episode series on Showtime, is Cohen's first TV series in more than a decade. Then former Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice, losing Senate candidate, and alleged serial sexual harasser Roy Moore admitted he'd been duped by Cohen as well.

In a statement today, Spencer apologized for the "ridiculously ugly episode", but he refused to step down from office. "As uncomfortable as I was to participate, I agreed to, understanding that these 'techniques" were meant to help me and others fend off what I believed was an inevitable attack. He reportedly threatened legal action against the network to prevent them from airing the footage, but they aired it anyway.
