Liverpool looking to sign Xherdan Shaqiri

Serie A giants Lazio are reportedly interested in signing Stoke City and Switzerland winger Xherdan Shaqiri this summer.

The Switzerland worldwide is looking for a move back to the Premier League after Stoke's relegation to the Championship and it looks like Liverpool will be his new club.

Stoke City are facing a potential financial setback if they pursue their current course in the negotiations with Liverpool for Xherdan Shaqiri. He admitted that he would like to leave following last season's relegation.

With Switzerland back from the World Cup after being eliminated by Sweden in the Round of 16, negotiations can progress and Shaqiri "has been considering his options since his involvement in Russian Federation was ended".

Former Stoke boss Mark Hughes signed Shaqiri from Inter Milan in August 2015 for £12million.

Klopp, meanwhile, remains keen to add at least one more attacking midfielder to his squad this summer. A deal for the Lyon captain may yet be resurrected after France's World Cup campaign, however.

Barnsey too is excited at the idea, calling it an "excellent" signing for the club. They have no interest in the likes of Nick Pope, Jasper Cillessen, Thomas Strakosha and Jiri Pavlenka, all of whom have been linked of late.
