Ghana forward Kevin Prince Boateng has said he would like to see Cristiano Ronaldo join Juventus amid increasing speculation linking the Portugal star with a move - claiming that it would important for Italian football.

Juventus president Andrea Agnelli had visited Ronaldo's hotel room in Greece for discussions, whilst Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes was believed to be meeting Real Madrid to seal the deal.

"Beyond the titles won, the trophies and the triumphs achieved on the playing field during these nine years, Cristiano Ronaldo has been an example of dedication, work, responsibility, talent and improvement".

Ronaldo scored a club-record 451 goals for Madrid and was crowned the world's best player in 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2017, as well as in 2008 while at Man United.

Ronaldo spoke after the Champions League final, hinting at the possibility that he would leave Real Madrid this summer, after eight seasons at the club. He also won four of his five Ballon d'Or awards while with Real Madrid.

A new era has begun not only for Real Madrid, but for all of Spanish football.

In an open letter of thanks published on Real Madrid's website, Ronaldo showed his gratitude for the support from Real Madrid's fans over the years.
