Johnny Depp Sued For Attacking Crew Member on Biggie Smalls Movie Set

Johnny Depp is being sued after he attacked a location manager on the set of his upcoming film City of Lies.

The actor allegedly hit Gregg "Rocky" Brooks repeatedly on April 13, 2017 after being informed that DTLA filming on the Brad Furman helmed pic about the LAPD investigation into the 1997 murder of the Notorious B.I.G. was going to have to wrap up late that night.

According to the lawsuit, the production was given permission to shoot outside the hotel until 7 P.M. and inside the hotel until 10 P.M. Brooks had to get the shooting permit extended twice to accommodate Depp because the actor wanted to perform a longer cut of a particular scene.

"City of Lies" is due to be released on September 7. When the crew member did not react, Depp allegedly "continued to scream and berate him in front of a set full of people until Depp's own bodyguards physically removed Depp from the scene".

A source told Page Six at the time that the out-of-control star was "six inches away" from Rocky's face, yelling, 'Who are you?

When Rocky replied: 'I'm just doing my job, ' the source said Johnny punched him, screaming: 'I'll give you $100,000 to punch me right now'.

Brooks said he was sacked from the production three days later, when he refused to sign a release waiving his right to sue over the incident. He claimed he was sacked when he declined.

Brooks is suing for assault and battery, infliction of emotional distress and negligence, among other things.

Depp has not yet responded to the lawsuit. The actor is now suing his former managers for $25 million for mishandling his finances, and he was sued in May by a pair of former security guards over unpaid wages and a "toxic" work environment. IndieWire has reached out to Depp's representative for comment.
