Jurgen Klopp shares his initial reaction to Loris Karius concussion

Days after the final, it emerged that Karius had undergone medical examinations that confirmed he had suffered a concussion in a clash with Sergio Ramos.

A week later, Karius was diagnosed as having suffered concussion in the game and was examined in the USA. Still, overcoming such a devastating game in Kiev will be a massive challenge for the stopper, whether his performance was hindered by concussion or not.

"He was influenced by that knock, that is 100 percent".

He added: 'As soon as Liverpool declared their interest in signing me, it was a simple decision to make. Speaking to reporters, the Liverpool boss said that his team does not use the concussion as an "excuse" but an "explanation" of what went down. I don't know exactly what people think or made of the situation.

"He didn't feel it obviously". That's how concussions are.

"With all the intensity of the game, adrenaline and the disappointment after the game, nobody really thought about that". It was not that easy.

"After four days I got a call from Franz Beckenbauer, [Germany's] Bobby Moore, our biggest football player who is a good friend of mine", Klopp told the club's official website.

Fourth Ohio State wrestler claims Jordan knew about sexual abuse
The law firm Perkins Coie was hired by Porter Wright to conduct an independent investigation into Strauss's behavior. Earlier in the week, NBC first reported that former wrestlers said Jordan knew of alleged abuse by Strauss.

"I think Liverpool are very close, I think they are knocking on the door", he said. Maybe there was contact or not.

And the Liverpool manager explained the role the Germany legend Beckenbauer played in alerting him to the possibility that...

"Equally, our commitment to him says we see his value and want him to grow even more and get even better within our environment". Of course I wanted them to win the Champions League and I'm disappointed they never [did] but when you look at the big picture - and the journey they are on - it is a very exciting time being part of this Liverpool set-up.

"(The day I signed) was party day!

Reports originating from Italy today claim that Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker remains on Liverpool's radar as Jurgen Klopp contemplates his goalkeeping options ahead of next season, this despite the Liverpool manager publicly backing Loris Karius by insisting he was suffering from concussion during the Champions League final. We do not use it as an excuse.

"So from my side everything is fine".

Liverpool, who have so far signed midfield duo Naby Keita and Fabinho, have until 5pm BST on August 9 to complete new signings.
