After the plot was uncovered, Netanyahu urged European countries to call off planned talks with Iran over preserving the nuclear deal.

Ministers from Britain, China, France, Germany and Russian Federation met their Iranian counterpart in Vienna for the first time since U.S. President Donald Trump left a nuclear accord in May, but diplomats had seen limited scope for salvaging it. The US has already been calling on its allies to stop importing Iranian oil by November 4, or face sanctions.

There was no readout from Iran immediately after the meeting, but Mogherini said all participants had agreed to reconvene the JCPOA again at a later date.
