XXXTentacion Memorial Erupts In Chaos In Los Angeles

A Los Angeles memorial for XXXTentacion on Tuesday night (June 19) turned unruly as fans gathered in the streets of West Hollywood to remember the late rapper.

The Los Angeles Times [via Pitchfork] reports that the event drew up to 1,000 people to Melrose and Spaulding Avenues in the city's Fairfax neighbourhood, blocking traffic in the roadway. They placed candles, flowers and teddy bears on the sidewalk near where the rapper known by his fans simply as "X" was shot. Everybody seemed happy and positive and singing along and everything like that. Around 9 p.m., police officers in tactical gear formed a line along a crosswalk and used tear gas to disperse the crowd. The cops reportedly had to fire rubber bullets and pepper bullets into the crowd after participants started to throw rocks.

"T$3 hey kicked me out of the vigil.so damn disrespectful. i can't believe people are that selfish. i wasn't even there 25 minutes and i literally got pulled away from the memorial. i just wanted to stay. i wasn't bothering anyone. this is unfair. i'm absolutely devastated". According to an Instagram post by users nojumper and adam22, the event was organized by them in the 7600 block of Melrose.
