Trump says he will not invite National Basketball Association champs to White House

When Trump and the Warriors sparred over the same thing last fall - the Warriors said they weren't coming to the White House and Trump said no, they were dis-invited - James called Trump a "bum" on Twitter.

"We're not going to invite either team", he told reporters Friday morning. A new NFL policy announced last month allows dissenting players to stay in the locker room during the national anthem but Trump said "maybe they shouldn't be in the country".

In remarks prior to Game 4 on Friday night, Warriors coach Steve Kerr said, "Man, it's Game 4 of the Finals". It seems if Trump thinks a team is going to outshow him by not showing up, he just decides to uninvite them, as to not embarrass himself.

Trump issued his invitation and snub amid a divisive controversy that resulted in the Philadelphia Eagles, winners of the National Football League's Super Bowl this year, not making the trip to see the president that championship teams traditionally make. However, he conveniently forgets that never before has a President been rejected this many times in regards to having a celebratory gathering at the White House.

Earlier this week, both James and Curry said they were not expecting an invitation this year. President Trump uninvited the Warriors, after Curry had already declined, claiming that Curry was hesitating and did not deserve the invite.
